As the number of servers increases, banks are facing a growing number of issues:
1. Space Constraints: With the rapid increase in the number of servers, even though most data centers use rack-mounted servers, they still require a large number of keyboards, mice, and monitors, which take up significant space in the data center and server racks. Many data centers use analog KVM systems, but these still fail to resolve issues such as excessive cabling, limited connection distances, and the inability to manage systems centrally.
2. Security Risks: Frequent entry by maintenance personnel into the data center to install, debug, and maintain equipment and systems poses security risks to the facility.
3. Delayed Troubleshooting: As banks offer an increasing number of services, it is impossible for staff to be on duty 24 hours a day. When equipment or applications fail during this time, maintenance cannot be performed promptly, which may even lead to service interruptions.
Customer Requirements
1. Centralized management and control of all servers in the data center.
2. Support simultaneous management by multiple users.
3. Enable remote, centralized management of the data center’s switches.
4. Enable remote, centralized management of the data center’s server power supplies.
5. Provide a unified management interface for centralized control of all KVM devices.

VOELLS Technology’s Solution:
Two digital KVM switches are used to manage these servers and provide access for four users to the network management monitoring center. Therefore, the server cluster is divided into two groups. Each group uses one digital KVM switch and an adapter module to connect to the servers inside the rack. Each switch is then connected via the network to centralized management software for administration. Users can manage the servers simply through the centralized management software.
