In modern data center management, the KVM switch is a management device chosen by most enterprise users. When the device is installed and enters the debugging, small problems often arise, such as the keyboard and mouse failing to operate the device. So how can we detect it? 

           users encounter situations where the keyboard cannot type and the mouse does not respond, do not be too quick to judge that the device has malfunctioned.

 According to the on-site of most construction personnel, it is generally just a simple physical connection issue rather than a hardware or software problem. Next, we only need to perform a simple check and double-confirmation our KVM switch.

1. Check if the Num LOCK indicator light on the keyboard is flashing.

　  If the Num LOCK indicator light is flashing the display screen is normal, you need to prioritize checking whether the connection cables of the keyboard and mouse are firmly connected to the host interface; you can try unplugging and replugging once. If the cable connection is normal, you need to check if the connected computer host has crashed. If the host has crashed, the operation is simple: just restart the host;

2. If the keyboard and mouse connections and the host operation are all normal, you can try disconnecting the power and reconnecting the devices. A small number of may have high power consumption, and there might be insufficient power during the initial connection and startup, so restarting the device should solve it. Of course, the possibility of this situation varies depending on different brands and parameters. If there are many devices in the machine room and the data is very important, and a restart is not supported, it is recommended to choose more stable KVM switch brand.
